Lean BIM: Pull Planning for BIM Coordination-part(2/2)

Description

Manage BIM clash coordination in the same way Superintendents manage work in the field. This class will teach you how to use your BIM Execution Plan + your Navisworks clash tests + pull planning + BIM 360 issues, to get coordination out of the weekly rut and stay ahead of the construction schedule. This gives order to clash coordination and puts it on the entire team's radar.

Key Learnings

  • Learn how to craft your BIM Execution Plan with schedule language
  • Learn how to set up your clash tests based on your execution plan and pull planning
  • Discover pull planning for BIM clash coordination
  • Use BIM 360 Issues to track and report coordination progress

Speakers

David was first exposed to Revit in 2003 while studying for his BS in Construction Management. He saw the potential of this relatively new software and spent hours outside of class using it. His first job after graduation put his skills to the test. He was hired by a GC going through a legal battle over a difference in gridlines between the architectural and structural plans. David modeled the architecture and structure from 2D plans to show the differences for use in the case. Since then, he has worked for architects, engineers, general contractors as well as MEP, fire protection, controls, and raised access floor subcontractors. Currently, he is the BIM Department Manager at Layton Construction. Along with managing all project-specific BIM work, he is responsible for company-wide software management, training, and interactions between departments. He is working to standardize BIM on all projects performed by Layton.
